The Titans took a break from their draft preparations to hail Steve McNair on the occasion of his retirement.
"Steve was the face of this franchise when we arrived here," coach Jeff Fisher said. "I think in a lot of ways will always be one of the faces of this franchise. His development kind of paralleled the development of this club. ... He will always have a fond place in my heart." McNair is the franchise's winningest quarterback, with 76 regular-season wins. From 1995 through 2005 he threw for 27,141 yards, 156 touchdowns and 103 interceptions while posting a 76-55 record and a 5-4 mark in the playoffs.
