Written by Administrator
Saturday, 10 May 2008
Billionaire developer Edward P. Roski Jr. has made a commitment to build the kind of stadium an NFL team needs to thrive in Los Angeles. Now, he's hoping one will commit to play there. Roski, a part owner of the Kings and Lakers who has spent years trying to lure the NFL back to this area, unveiled plans Thursday for a 75,000-seat facility in the City of Industry he said could be finished in time for...

Rivers, L.T. back on field as Chargers open minicamp (AP)
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 10 May 2008
Less than four months after having a ligament in his right knee replaced, Philip Rivers was dropping back and throwing passes. Granted, it was glorified touch football and the San Diego Chargers quarterback didn't have defenders in his face. But the quarterback had no intention of missing the opening practice of minicamp on Friday morning, the first time the Chargers were back on the field together...

Then again, the gutsy Rivers played in the AFC title game with a shredded ACL, so maybe it isn't a shock to see him rebound so quickly.

"It feels pretty good," Rivers said. "It's been a good couple months of rehab, and to this point, we've made a lot of progress."

Rivers, though, stayed clear of defenders and was restricted to going against defense which didn't feature pass-rushers.

The sight of him zeroing in on targets in May and jogging without a limp was an encouraging sign for a team eager to make another Super Bowl run.
