A year later, the Raiders' draft was still all about quarterback JaMarcus Russell.
The Raiders opted to bypass LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey in part because they consider him a "three-technique" defensive tackle and have already decided that returnee Tommy Kelly will fill that role, paying him $18.125 million in guaranteed money.
Dorsey could affect Russell's game peripherally by helping get the ball back to the offense, but not directly.
Not so with Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, whose presence gives Russell an important weapon heading into the quarterback's first season as the starter of an NFL team.
"I think it's going to affect JaMarcus a lot," coach Lane Kiffin said. Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (0) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 0 |
